Interesting take on outlining. Do you think, regarding your comment "I knew nearly everything about Onion Street" one of the reasons you are averse to outlining is that you've basically done, in your head already, what outlining is meant to do: plan the book. I write grotesque noir and for all of my books I've done some pretty in-depth outlining. I honestly couldn't imagine doing it any other way.
